NBC's "Heroes" reveals character was formerly disabled

In an unexpected twist, the speedster character (meaning she runs in a flash), Daphne Millbrook, was revealed to be disabled in the last few minutes of the Nov. 24 episode of the NBC show, "Heroes." She walked out of her childhood bedroom on crutches with both legs in braces.

The Daphne character (played by Brea Grant) is a little bit villain, a little bit hero. The character began as pure villain, but her softer side is coming forward as she gets closer to hero mind reader Matt Parkman (played by Greg Grunberg). (Both are pictured.)

The Nov. 24 episode began a two-part story in which all the heroes, and villains, lose their powers due to a solar eclipse. Knowing what is about to happen, the Daphne character speeds back to her childhood home on a farm outside Lawrence, Kan., where Parkman goes looking for her.

I assume more about her disability and its "cure" will be revealed in the Dec. 1 episode. But from what I can gather, she was given her speedster power by the villains' leader, which "cured" her disability and now she must do whatever she is told to do by the leader.

Stay tuned. . .because if she decides to become a hero instead of a villain, she may remain a disabled character in the show.
