Garfield cartoonist wants students to learn through a myriad of visual and fun experiences

Here's Garfield creator Jim Davis' statement from his Prof. Garfield Web site:

Hi, I'm Jim Davis, the creator of Garfield the Cat. Welcome to the Professor Garfield website, a place where you can take your brain to the extreme. There are so many entertaining games, activities and challenges in this website your brain will say "Finally! Thank you for bringing me here!"

Don't like to read? Start with a comic strip. It's short and (trust me) very, very funny. Don't think you're creative? Think again! You'll become a sculptor in a matter of minutes. Want to connect with other kids? You're in the right place. This is Professor Garfield. Not your run-of-the-mill website. I planned it that way.

I've always been a big believer that, if you make stuff fun, the knowledge you gain along the way will stick. You wouldn't believe the number of moms, dads and teachers who've told me that Garfield was the reason their child started reading, and (keep this on the down-low) learning. Professor Garfield will guide you, your kids, your students through a myriad of learning experiences from reading to math to science, even art lessons with real cartoonists, this idea is simple: we want to tickle your brain and your funnybone.

We haven't done this all by ourselves. We have a great group of folks who have joined us in putting together this unparallelled accumulation of good solid educational material that's bright, funny, imaginative, highly interactive and free.
